O.k., I live in a third world island in the middle of no where. My dog is an island mutt who I saved from a life of hunger and abuse. I have to leave her for three weeks. The only option I have is to leave her on my good sized safe porch, and have a teenager come over every day to take care of her but not spend the night. there are no kennels, or trustworthy housesitters. If I take her off the island, I will not be able to get her back in the country. Will she be o.k.? Any other ideas? Remember, I don't have many normal options.

I live in a third world, because of my job, and I'm going to the U.S. for Christmas cause I haven't seen my family in year and a half.

If you've got a trustworthy person to come over and feed and walk your dog, that's your best option.

People in the U.S. do it all the time when they hire a pet sitter. That's what pet sitters do.

Take the dog with you, then give them to someone who can be a proper dog owner in the US. Three weeks is too much for a dog to be just on some porch.

I think I'm more curious to where you live and where you have to go, and why are you in a third world country .
