I can only remember a few times that I have been threatened and they were a long time ago. One was a practicing (?) Christian, and the other two times were from non-practicing Christians. But I live in an area where the majority of the population identify with Christianity (practicing or not). I am sure if I lived in a country where the vast majority was of a different faith, my answers would be different.

I haven't had any hate mail for a while, but a Christian in the forum was threatening to slit my throat, and a Muslim used messenger to threaten my children and I with beheading. Needless to say, I no longer allow people to IM me, but I do keep the mail open. If I don't recognize the name I simply delete it unread.
***Edit: I had forgotten about the person whom I believe to be agnostic telling me, and I quote, "Wherever you go I will find you. Lock your doors."

Yes I was It was 2 years ago . I was in school when a colegue of me from Sri lanka was making a really innocent joke abt Mohamed saying he is an old man , I was smiling and another colegue , a moderate muslim from Chechnya ( which actually I considerated him very open minded and nice person) treath bots of us with death . I was shoked !!I couldnt imagine that a simple smile for hearing a joke could drive somebody so crazy to wish my death . Especialy that this guy was in the same class with us , he use to sit together with me in the same desk ,we used to work together on the same lessons ,to play and lough sometimes he really seemed to be a nice guy it was like we call the moderate muslim type. It was a shock for me how a normal human being can change suddenly into a fanatic criminal just becouse of his religion.

I've been threatened twice in recent memory. Both times the person was not of any religion and one was an agnostic.

In Iraq, by whom? a Mormon, yes a soldier E8 who was offended by us reading the bible, one that made my life miserable the whole time I was there. His abuse hunts me still today.

i hate to say it , but the only time i get hate mail or someone saying something nasty to me ... it is Christians
