You need to and spend a couple hundred bucks on Windows.

If you want a free operating system, take a look at linux.

You don't need IE7 just stick to what you have. I bought a computer off of someone and it had a windows xp on it that was bootlegged but it didn't cause me any problems.

Don't worry about it. Or go and buy a new tower or the complete desktop pc.

um, I'm going to take a shot in the dark here..but what do you think you need to do? You have an ILLEGAL copy and you cannot download updates? Do you have any common sense? If you did, then you would go right out and BUY a legitimate copy of Windows.

Problems solved!!

It's not like anything bad is goin to happen...just go on using ure comp..that only means that u can no longer get updates from microsoft..including security updates...or even browser update(unless u get something like Mozilla Firefox which is not from microsoft)...
that icon will never go away on the tray...but its not something to worry about..
