Here in the state of Texas, you have to go thru a background check thru the State Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies or "The Board" if you work as an armed or even unarmed security officer. To carry a firearm in Texas, you must also carry a "Commission". This is a card issued by The Board that says you passed a course in the use of firearms and went thru a background check. But you can only carry the weapon from your home to your work and from work to your home. No stopping off to get food,gas,etc..

No, variouis states have rules, and depending on the company and type of security they do.
In some states the security agency has to be licesed but the guards are merely registered. And if a private company, lets say Walmart, would hire thier own secuity they are normally just hired. ( unless they are to be armed)

Depends on the state. In California, if someone works for a security company they must be licensed. To carry a firearm, a separate license is required. If you work for a private company, like Disneyland for example, no state license is required.
