Nope. You are an adult at 18 and responsible for your own actions no matter who's house you live at.

No matter how old you are, parents always think they are responsible for their kids....but legally. If they live at home, there are some things parents are still responsible for. Like if the kid get in a car accident, even if they have their own insurance, the parent can be held accountable, and if they get arrested for drugs, the parents house and everything they own can still be taken away because of what the child does, so, if you live at home, live by the rules. If you don't live at home, then no, the parents have no responsibility to the child. (but we still love to butt in when we can.....so hear us, agree with us, then do what you want to... it will save a ton of trouble in the long run!)

Yes.... As A parent of a 25 year old and an 18 year old we are still responsible wether they live in our home or not.... Yes they are adults but they can still make mistakes and we are there for them... When we become parents we never stop being responsible for our children... And when our children become parents they will realize the same thing...

legally no---an 18 yr old should have a JOB of their own---you are no longer financially responsible---but now if the kid is 18 and hasn't graduated from h.s. yet you are responsible until the child is graduated.

2 years ago my son just turned 18----he thought that was the magic ### and he also thought he didn't have to abide by the rules of our home. He hadn't yet graduated from h.s. yet either. His constant disruptions and behavioral problems ended with him being told.....YOU DON"T LIKE THE RULES....then there is the FRONT DOOR---(he ran away from home---with the ideology that we'd be pining away looking for him) on the contrere'. He ended up not graduating! We didn't file a missing persons report either due to the fact at 18 there is nothing you can do legally!

This son now is 20 yrs old---unstable---and hasn't worked at anything accept being a Carnival creepo ---"JOE dirt" tilt-a-whirl ride operator!! GEEZ-----gotta be desperate to do that---but it's his choice!! I haven't heard from him Since August and have no clue where he is or what he's doing at this point!

Again---NO you're not reponsible for your 18 yr old----

I think parents will always feel somewhat responsible for their children no matter what age they are. As my Mom always says...you may be grown but you're still my son. I think at 18, it's time for thekid to learn some responsibility for themselves, get a job, etc., but a child will always be your child no matter what age they are.

Children have their own mind and thinking once they reach a certain age. Responsible depends on what problem, is it relationship, personality or what?

I dont think a parent can legally be held liable for an 18 year olds actions, but I believe morally we should be.
