i. winning ores using liquids like in froth flotation,
ii. corrosion studies
iii. electrolysis processes such as copper refining
pyrometallurgy relates to metallurgy of processes that use heat such as winning metals in furnaces (blast furnace for iron and lead/zinc) and raosting and smelting copper etc
