This actually happened to some bloke in the tesco where I worked. He had a heart attack and died later in hospital. He had left some belongings including his motorised scooter in the store, all of which were kept in a safe place and we kept his shopping to one side, his chilled and frozen foods were kept in a chiller. About two days later a relative came to collect the scooter but didn't want the shopping, so it was all chucked in the bin!
If ever a customer couldn't pay and was going to come back, all items were kept securely and chilled/frozen foods were kept in a chiller, being part of the "cold chain".

wow you have got really good imagination. This is an interesting case study for supermarkets and consumer protection cells. I feel that its the duty of the supermarket to take care of all your belongings if the death happens in their market including the shopping you have done and paid for.

If they weren't paid for just yet they would be placed back on the shelves and management would notify next of kin. But if they were paid for, not only would the items in question be placed back on the shelves, management would notify next of kin, and re-imburse them for the cost of the groceries.

If its paid for the government might take it away... If I wanted to give it to my next of kin, surely some would be taken away by the government as a kind of inheritance tax thing... So if I die, say someone else paid for it!!! SHHHHH!

I don't really know but I think it would be a good idea to have your ashes scatered in the supermarket - at least you could be sure your wife would visit you twice a week.

It doesn't matter---I would hope how they handle you is the top priority. You won't need the stuff so maybe it will be claimed and maybe it won't. Maybe it will go in the ambulance with you....kind of piled on your body and wheeled into the hospital.Ive seen it before.

Why do men break wind more than women?
Because women can't shut up long enough to build up the required pressure.
So you better hush!

some of those homelesses hanging outside would probably grab it and run... while they take you to the gravesite... might as well put some of the groceries on the tombstone!
