Used to be a fan but he wore on me. After the atheist joke...I can take a little ribbing but he really got the crowd ryled up like "yeah! take that stupid atheists, lol OMFG!" It may as well have been a religious gathering.

It's not the joke that bothers me, whatever, he's an idiot. It's the atmosphere it creates.

I gotta say, never really was a fan of his to start with. Can't really criticize him for this joke though. Well, I can say it's not that funny, but offensive humor is some of the best stuff out there and it certainly was appropriate for that audience. I agree though, the crowd's response is definitely a self-satisfied superiority.
I don't know what do get out of that experience. If I hadn't gone into that braced against an attack, I might have enjoyed it more. Prolly not though... Dane Cook isn't the best.

Oh, who cares. George Carlin does the same thing at the expense of the religious. It's comedy, man. He makes fun of practically everyone.
I just watched it. That was some funny junk, man. Come on, his jokes are all about being aggressive and angry and such, so of COURSE he's gunna go off on the atheist thing. He goes off on everything. He's already told the freaking world that he was raised Catholic and he's already made fun of it! He's made fun of God, now I guess it's time he made fun of the godless!
George Carlin creates an atmosphere of ridicule when it comes to religion. Have you heard his rants on God? That his god is Joe Pesci? I'm not so thin skinned that I can't take it when a crowd gets all riled up over some decent humor at my expense.

I'm watching it, if this is what you are talking about...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wts-dntnyh4
and it's not bothering me...
I like all kinds of humor. Even if my worldview is the victim.
But the person he describes as laughing at him needs to be made fun of, regardless of whether I share his worldview or not.
Atmosphere... eh. He makes fun of Catholicism in another clip, and people laugh just like they do on the atheist sketch.

I personally think Dane Cook is hysterical... but there are a few groups that everyone still thinks it's ok to be prejudiced against... unfortunately, atheists is one of those groups.

I like Dane Cook, his joke about how he wants to be a snake is funny as fu'ck. Who cares if he rips on Atheists, or any other group for that matter, he's a comic, that's what he does for a living.

First I had to look up who he is, then I had to search for the video, then I watched some of it.
I wish that I found it funny or offensive but I did not.
The video was posted by a fundamentalist creationist Muslim group. Now THAT I found funny.
