I had many many fillings come out. After a while they just wear down and come lose. It's not dangerous but u should really get in to get them refilled due to the fact that now the filling is out and bacteria can get into the tooth. That in turn will cause and infection and possibly and abscess. Just make a call to your dentist and tell him you lost the fillings. I have had to do this many many times. In the meantime u can go to your pharmacy and they have some things you can buy to temporary fill it until you can see your dentist. Good Luck and don't worry everything will be fine!! Several factors may play in the loss of a filling.
Most commonly, the filling is on a front tooth, just at the edge. These fillings sometimes come out easily b/c they are not supported from below. When you bite on something, the filling may break out b/c there is not support holding it in. If this happens often, dentists usually recommend a crown for the tooth.
Fillings come out of molars, too. Sometimes b/c of age, sometimes b/c of the application of the filling. Dentists are regular people. They can make mistakes. Sometimes, after the dentist has cleaned the work area of the tooth, the patient will move their tongue and get saliva into the area. If the dentist doesn't catch it (his head is turned), the filling may not bond correctly. It may begin to leak and give you problems.
There are many other things that cause a filling to come out. These are just a few examples. Dentistry is extremely precise. Many things can effect the outcome of any procedeure.
I hope this helps!
Happy Holidays!

depending on the age of the filling you might have a decay developing under it. Usually they come out when the support under the filling fails (decay). So you definitely need to have them refilled.
