I am 13 years old and going to be 14 next year. I feel really fat and disgusting for some reason but am unwilling to go on a diet as I am afraid it may affect my growth weight, especially my height. I am around 46.5 kg and 158cm and I feel very overweight. I even find myself crying at night because I feel really lost about what to do like whether to go on a diet or not. Can you give me some guidance and advice please?

Im sad to see these words. But I've been there. I definetely fell into an unhealthy habit, which did stunt my growth and had other side effects. If you are feeling disgusted as you say, i think you may have low self esteem and or confidence. I think it might help you to start playing a sport, or start exercising. Also you should start doing someting for yourself, that will distract you from focusing on your weight. Diets...really dont help for ever, whats best is a lifestyle change, that will last forever. Such as...maybe pick out one thing that you eat/drink that is unhealthy and replace it with something healthy. Or drink more water, eat more vegetables, and healthy meats. Dont just stop eating what you are used to though, I believe that everything is allowed, all food is good food, but everything needs to be in proportion. What I noticed about myself since I went off to college, is that eating several times a day, really does boost my metabolism. So if you aren't already eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you shoould. And eat small snacks in between those meals, so that when its time for lunch/dinner, you're not starving.
Most importantly, it might be best to talk to someone close to you. Friends dont always understand, especially at your age, but maybe a parent, or a relative might. Good luck! Take care!
ANother thing...you're still growing, so dont make any huge changes. I did and years later I have realized that if i would have just let my body do what it needed to do, I woould have looked better faster.

First, relax. Been there, done that. I had no money at 16, either, we lived on Social Security. Yes, you do need to focus on school. That is the best distraction from your worries possible. You are still growing and it will probably be surprising how much your body will continue to change even into your late teens. It's working, just give it time to do what it needs to do. If you eat with moderation and get enough exercise, it will do the rest as quickly as possible. As far as clothes, find a good consignment shop or second-hand store. They're everywhere. Many times, people will wear clothes once (if at all) and decide they want more. I've found clothing that still had original price tags from the store where they were purchased. Get busy at doing something. Find a good hobby of some kind that will help you gain confidence in something you truly enjoy. Be it writing, painting, music, sculpture, photography, journaling or anything else. The choices are endless. Music is very therapeutic as well as writing. Don't be so demanding of yourself. If your feelings of self-loathing continue, you may need to see a therapist to help you see what's causing it all. Good luck. I hope this helps:-)

Honey, honey, honey, can't you see, your depressed because your over weight and afraid of being a failure if you don't follow through on a diet. That's alot to put on oneself. Look at it this way, for you to recognize this means that you've got to be kind of cute right? Then imagine how cute you would be if you lost a little weight, and how cuter you' be losing a little more. Set a weight goal for yourself and meet it for your own satisfaction. Not for anyone elses!! When I was younger, a girl at my school was over weight and didn't smile much. I always talked with her because I liked it when I made her smile. She was recently at our class reunion made heads turn as she's blossomed into a beautiful swan. She is as sweet as ever and she said this is how she did it as mentioned above. It's up to you to make it happen, no one can do this but you sweetie!!! I know you can. Good Luck let us know what the outcome is in a couple of weeks.

Love yourself dear. Love the person inside no matter what size you are. Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are worth it.
