i think you mean MRSA
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. a specific strain of the Staphylococcus aureus bacterium that has developed antibiotic resistance to all penicillins, including methicillin
this bug is most often contracted while a person is in the hospital and quite often if they've had surgery due to the wound being open to air for an extended period of time.
it is treatable with heavy doses of non-penicillin antibiotics-most commonly vancomycin. once a person catches MRSA-they are a carrier for life-they are only contagious if the illness is active in their system which rarely occurs after it's initially treated
people who have this while in the hospital are put into what is called contact isolation. people entering the person's room have to wear special gowns and gloves to prevent the spread of the germ (these items are thrown away in a trash can located inside the patient's room upon the visitor leaving). handwashing is the best preventitive way of stopping the spread of this nasty illness

Not sure what the C means, perhaps it is referring to community acquired MRSA (methicillin resistant staph aureus). There are many strains of MRSA but, 2 types. Community acquired (pretty self explanatory) versus hospital acquired. Community acquired MRSA is usually more acute and severe. Most common is skin or wound infections. It is becoming more common in kids who participate in contact sports such as wrestling. However, anyone can get it. You are not necessarily a carrier for life. It can be difficult to get rid of, it usually takes a combination of antibiotics. Usually after three negative tests for MRSA, a person is cleared from the infection (meaning healthcare workers no longer need to take additional precautions when in contact with the person).
