We have a brand new dating relationship (4 dates after this weekend) and I was wondering what to get her for X-mas. She wants to take things on her pace which is slower than mine. What kind of gift can I give without it being too much?

Is jewelry going to be too strong of a statement?

A gift for what you describe would be the same for any friend---non commital and not at all embarrassing for either of you. Gifts that seem to say too much make people uncomfortable----show her a side of you that is thoughtful and respectful---be that way everyday--you'll be a hit for sure. Try to see each day as a holiday---be cheerful and nice to her and everyone--talk nice and get to know her and her interests--the gift ideas will come naturally. Try a fun gift that matches personality---make her smile.Don't push or beg or whine or whimper about the pace of the relationship---who knows, you may find her to be a long time girlfriend who really appreciates you. Being a jerk will only drive her away. Merry xmas

I think the best gift you can give a woman is anything that would help make her life easier. You could even print coupons for her to trade in later on for say one day of cleaning her house, car, laundry, or whatever. Keep it cute, personal, and romantic. Womens idea of romantic and guys idea of romantic are two different things. Sometimes a guys idea of romance is " take off your bra" Women tend to think of romance as anything that comes from the heart. Something that they thought about and put some time into. Something that is personal just for them.

A nice dinner out somewhere would be good. or a bouquet of flowers, with a poem attached.. if she is into the health scene, a nice fruit basket is great.. or some good cheeses and wine.. but don't know your age, so the wine my be out.. if she has a favorite charity, a donation in her name would be good.. Don't know where you live , but if they have the horse and buggie rides that would be super cool, and take alone a Thermos of hot chocolate.. it is the simple things in life that mean the most.. good luck..

a book, a movie? nothing that can be considered personal. my favourite gift that i got when i was dating someone very early during christmas was a journal to write down on like a diary. or maybe you can give her a plant.
