I think everyone I know has a worst 18th birthday story to tell so don't worry about it too much and I'm sure that if you tell your parents what happened and they see how upset you are they will understand. It's not the worst thing in the world and I know it's upsetting right now but things will get better. It's still early and you could end up having a really good day. Try not to dwell on it.

Honey, don't cry, no reason for it ! there is a "U" shaped pipe under the sink called a "trap", there is also another one on the sewer line in the basement, it can be retrieved, It's no biggie, there is an inspection, and retreival port on the trap, it's there for just such a problem, don't sweat the small stuff kid ! take the drain cover off the sink, you can probably retrieve it with a magnet duct taped to a stick, or line. or call a plumber. try a long thin coat hanger bent with a hook, I grew up in a family with 4 kids, everything went down the toilet, my little guy flushed the deflector cup from his traing potty seat down the toilet, I had to buy a new toilet, the plumber showed me where it got jammed, total cost $500.00 and I knew the plumber, I guess it's "PAY BACK" time for me, as a parent, kids are rotten, I know this because I was kid 100 years ago, and I was ROTTEN, they're all ROTTEN !

Don't run any water down that sink, have a look underneath. Theres a bit with a bend in it called the 'u' bend.
You should be able to unscrew it an get your necklace back; if you have a small bowl or bucket that will fit put that down first and wear rubber gloves, it can be mucky.
Tip the contents of the U bend into the bucket and look for your necklace in there, then put it back on.

no problem! It should be trapped in the U bend of the sink. Get someone to take it off and it should be there!

Get another one at the dollar store. Some things are mass made and replaceble even if you can't get it out of the sink. Cheer-up things could be far worse you know.
