good point; we descendents of the european settlers forget that we came here to live a better life... instead we corrupted ourselves and became hypocrites by not letting others have the right to live their life in the way they would choose; and still are doing it (some of us) by acting as if no one else has a right to live here but us... Maybe we're the ones who should be told "Go back home to England, Ireland...etc" Why point fingers at Mexicans and other races? You only reveal how ignorant and narrowminded you are when you can't realize the truth about yourself. So get off your high horse and stop acting as if only certain people are deserving of the "land of opportunity...where we have the right to 'life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness'" What, those statements aren't ideals that should be applied to all people? Only American citizens deserve these things? Get a heart, people

Unfortunately slavery WAS legal back before the Civil War so that´s a non-issue. It´s not true that all descendants of former slaves live in the ghettos and have high unemployment - many of my co-workers and bosses have been blacks from the suburbs.

There is no comparison between illegal immigration today and the legal immigration of yesterday, and you can´t compare slaves and Native Americans to illegals, it´s disrespectful and out of context.

Not all Indians choose to live on a reservation, its their choice, while I cant condone the actions taken to the Indians by the people of that era,I have to accept the results. This is today the here and now.As for the ghetto
and forcing someone to live in one ,that's an out and out lie.Any one of any color or race can live anywhere in this nation that they can afford to live. You can not blame something that happened many years ago for peoples problems today.yes racism was rampant in the older days of this nation. Many things have been done to change this,Affirmative action and many monetary grants for education has helped those who wish
to rise up from poverty ,to excel.]
Slaves received no pay, they were treated badly by some and fairly by others. They were owned, bought and sold .It was a disgraceful time not only in this nation but in many other country's as well. The white public in the USA,rose up against this and slavery was abolished here.
The history of all nations is not always pretty, look to Mexico for its bloody past as well as nearly all the nations in this world.
Entering into this nation is a crime,it is a crime to aid ,abet, shelter, hide and give support (money, jobs etc)
illegal aliens for any reason.
The people you are speaking of are legal Americans
and deserve all the perks and power of being a legal American. The illegal alien deserves to be deported and nothing more.Stop trying to compare apples to oranges. It never works.

A ghetto is an area where people from a specific racial or ethnic background or united in a given culture or religion live as a group, voluntarily or involuntarily, in milder or stricter seclusion. The term now commonly labels any poverty-stricken urban area. In the U.S. the news media created terms like rural ghetto to describe mobile home parks, farm labor housing tracts and Indian reservations to indicate that the poorest areas in the U.S. aren't within major cities.
In the United States, urban neighborhoods where Hispanic immigrants settled in the late 20th century (called barrios) are said to be comparable to ghettos, because most immigrants form a culturally isolated enclave and may choose to remain there or associate with their own group.

If people worked to get out of the ghetto they will get out of the ghetto. Don't blame this on everyone. Do you watch TV? Do you listen to rap music? People envy these lifestyles so they just become willing to look like a pimp, but then leave the children home by themselves or with the mother. No one puts anyone in their place anymore. People put themselves there these days. Quit blaming the American government for your poverty. The path to get out is there... You just want to blame everyone else for the reason YOU didn't take it!
