There are different forms of "spirit" - residual energy of people. Some spirit moves on to the next plane of existence. Sometimes they do not. Sometimes, they leave behind some "essence" of their existence, like a photo of themselves. Sometimes they do not move on at all, because of issues they need to deal with.
There are many kinds of spirit, from the energy of our own selves, to the energy of Deity, and all little energies between. Some folks can "see" this energy.
There is a wonderful book out called "Of Spirits: The Book of Rowan" by Ivo Dominguez Jr. that goes into the various "spirits" or "ghosts" and the different types. I have read his material, and found he puts into words much of what I think, based on my own experiences. He writes it so much better than I can.
Its a thought. If you want to look further into this, I suggest you get a copy of the book, it really is good.

The World of the Jinn
Throughout history man has always had a deep attraction for the supernatural and the unseen. The existence of a world parallel to our own has always fascinated people. This world is commonly referred to as the spirit world, and almost every set of people have some concept of one. With some people, these spirits are no more then the souls of dead people- or ghosts. With others, spirits are either the forces of good or the forces of evil - both battling against one another to gain influence over humanity. However, both of these explanations are more in tune with folk tales and fantasy. The true explanation of such a world comes from Islam. Like every other way, Islam also claims to explain this realm of the unseen. It is from this realm that Islam explains to us about the world of the Jinn. The Islamic explanation of the Jinn provides us with so many answers to modem day mysteries. Without the knowledge of this world, the Muslims would become like the non-Muslims and be running around looking for any old answer to come their way. So, who or what are the Jinn?

Ghost are not the same as a Spirit.....
Spirits are from heaven, usually white appearance with a glow.
Ghost are either, on their way to heaven, or basically stuck on the earth due to being negative, they are afraid to go to the light that's positive.
Ghost and Spirits, they are energy, paranormal supernatural entity.
I know they are real cause I see or feel their presences, and some communication, since I was four.

I think Ghosts were once humans, they walked this earth and were born through a physical womb. Where as SPirits (ex:Angels,Demons) were created spirits and know nothing of the flesh. Hence the reason they like to possess people or even really try to guard and protect us so much, they are fascinated by us.

I think ghosts are real and appear only to people whom believe in them. It happened to both my mom and her mother when they were about one week away from death. They both stated that they saw people they knew whom were dead "in the other room" or "right over there", but I couldn't see anything. They were both matter of fact that these people were there and were keeping them company. They were happy (the ghosts were...their mothers, sisters/daughters) and they felt comfortable and not scared that they were in the house. So since both my mom and grandmother experienced this same situation, six or so years apart, I do think there are ghosts and believe it's an image that must look like the real person.

My beleave is they are kind hearted people that made a difference for the better and done great things in life and are lucky enough to be given a second chance to watch over loved ones in passing and carry on as an angel.i think you are bleased and lucky to ever see one,not everybody has that experience.

A ghost is a figment of the imagination. However, that does not make it any less real.
