ok first of all don't feel that you're wife is inferior or make her think she is inferior because of her education level - make her feel self confident- that itself will make a positive difference in her personlity - praise and encourage her more often because no number of personality development classes can improve self esteem.
There are many classes where she can develop her English skills. You can inquire at Mithibai college, dial 28888888 and get the number of The British Institutes (fort) which have good classes in speech development and personality development.
You may also need to teach her train travel - so you can accompany her a few times and then send her a few times on her own. This will give her confidence.
As for fitness, there are many gyms. However you can also encourage her to join a Yoga class. The Yoga Institute of Santa Cruz has classes of various durations and timings to suit housewives. She can even do a 1 month course that will equip her to teach children and probably start classes at home or work part time in a school.
I think you should not object to her working as women have the capability to manage both the house and their work.,,,and working will give her a new idea of self worth...
She needs to go out there, interact, learn something new and do something worthwhile with her spare time... if she utilises her spare time productively, she'll become the woman you want her to be.

You train a dog.
You do not train your wife you just gently explain if she is not getting dress according to neighbourhood standard. She will be force to use English only I believe they use 4 main languages in Bombay, English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati.
In samaj or certain buildings they may use even Bengali, so there should be no question of the language or fashion she will mimic other ladies of her age group. She is educated so she will pick up on her own or you may guide her from time to time.
In the beginning just tell her what to put on when there is some important outing. Tell her to use the language that others understand, if meeting a boss or.....I think she will use English the most and likely be forced to do so. I think that in the beginning you may need to talk to her in English/Hindi only (one day English next day Hindi, explain her why) so she gets use to using the language instead of Bengali.

Ask her to maintain a distance, and you do too.She is educated and must have had common sense how to get along with people. Both of you use your tact and do not tax.Take things as they come along, don't be judgemental and pedantic as far as she is concerned.Enjoy life rather begin educating her unnecessarily.
