Wow a legitimate question with a crapload of crazy answers lol.

Some posters are close..

(btw, palm strike upwards to the nose will not kill someone, nor will end send the bone into the cranial cavity and pierce the brain, that is a myth not science)

Yes, hard blunt trauma on the carotid artery can produce a knockout but it is fairly hard to do, and not incredibly viable as a knifehand "karate chop" has to be executed in an arc (which means the average joe moron is going to at least put his arms up and defend that, plus it is hard to get a good clean shot).

The best place to "hit" someone to knock them out would in fact be the chin, as a poster above said, it is called "the button" for a reason. Though an upward strike is not nearly as effective as a straight on strike, or a horizontally angled strike.

Straight right hand to the chin, or right/left hook to the chin (preceded by a jab or body shot to keep the arms out of your way)

You hit a guy across the chin, you will most likely drop him. The other spot is the temple, (that indention between the eyes and ears on the front side of the head, go ahead, press on it, hurts a little doesn't it), a good shot to the temple will drop a guy with a quickness.

So let's review, angled strike to the chin. (rotates head, temporarily closes carotid arteries, knocks someone out)

Straight to the chin, (sends shockwave up the jawline into the cranial cavity causing concussion and k.o.)

Strike to the temple (yata yata, concussion, k.o.)

Those are the best places to hit someone to knock them out.

However, why bother with all that when you can just apply a choke hold, maintain control of your opponent and put him to sleep.

When they have their mouth open, hit them in the chin. It sends a shock to the brain which causes the knock out.

Guy above me is correct.

brian... Please shut up! You don't know a thing! Roundhouse kick to thigh won't screw person leg up permamently, it happen in Muay Thai all of the time. A side kick could really mess knee up, but the person would have to stand with their knees lock which is not normal.

Lastly, it's not as much about where you punch, it's more about caught them off guard. You gotta to set the punch up so they doesn't see it coming.

Palm strike to the jaw. Aim the force from the point of contact to the opposite rear of the skull. The jaw will transmit the force to the base of the skull.

Rigt in the chest. If you hit someone in the chest hard enough you knock the wind out of them. If you hit them really really hard you knock them out.

well if u want them down where they wont be able to get back up but dont want them to pass out kick at the knee joint as hard as you can with a roundhouse
**(it takes about 45 pounds of pressure to accomplish this kicking at the side of the knee and about 90 punds of pressure to do this kicking directly at the knee)**
********also remember that in doing this it is permanent meaning you will screw up their legs pretty bad********

but if you want them down for the count you should hit them directly upwards into the nose! or do a knifehand strike to the side of the neck where the major vein to the head is!

a number of those are reliable concepts, yet when you're searching for for for the fastest thanks to knock someone out, in case you prepare demanding and continually with it, then the temple is the finest position, as some earlier stated. The chin will dislocate in case you hit it. sure, this is going to harm like the dickens, yet knock out, I cant say I actually have ever seen that ensue. although the Temple is a diverse knock out element. sure, it really is a rigidity element. hitting someone between the legs is only going to reason an excellent type of discomfort. Hitting the Adams apple or the throat can really reason the windpipe to be damaged or lack of life, if hit demanding adequate.

There are many KO points on the human body. Your instructor should know these. If he doesn't trust you enough to teach them to you, I won't either.
