Yes it is, but its abit like reading shakespeare to an extent, once you understand whatis going on, or what certain sentences or words mean, it is a little easier to understand.
Its just something that needs a little thinking and help with.
I enjoyed chaucer once i understood it.

I've been speaking English all my life, natively, and I could hardly understand Chaucer. You can find modern translations, however.

It is if you can't even write a sentence in english. However, if you think you are up to the challenge, try to get a modernized version as middle english is sometimes hard to understand. It's like a puzzle.

Only if you get it in Middle English. Get a modern English version. I remember really thinking it was funny because it's so bawdy.
