We've all been there at some point. Get off Yahoo answer's look at yourself in the mirror. What are you passionate about? What makes you happy? What do you want to accomplish in life?
Work towards these goals, doing nothing just makes you become more depressed, perhaps work on your figure if thats what depresses you, if you do all that then you might get more attention from the opposite sex, which is always the best cure for any sort of depression. Your 14 and you have a lot to live for, lots of time ahead of you, don't settle for less, aim for success, and you will be happy and grateful that you did.

Ahhh memories. At least now it known and people don't think you are crazy.

You can talk to your parents, might have to to set up an appointment with your primary care phycian. Talk to him/her about how you are feeling ...

Your PCP will probably give you a Medication and give you a referral to follow up on how you are doing...

I have manic depression aka bipolar. I always felt as though I was nuts until I talk to a dr about the way I was feeling all the time.

Being 14 is hard enough and having depression on top of it is even harder.
Don't be scared to say how you are feeling when a dr asks. It can be more helpful then harmful...
Wish you the best of luck :)

You can't really be manically depressed. Are you thinking of manic depressive?

Manic means nearly crazy, ultra-high, almost - excessively empowered and feeling good. Depressed is, well, depressed. Manic-Depressive was a label for people who swung from one extreme to the other. Nowadays it's more likely called Bi-polar.

You might be majorly depressed - really depressed. There is help. If you think your parents will help, start there. Otherwise a counselor at your school, or even your teacher or another trusted adult.

Things can get better. They will.

Talk to your parents or another trusted adult. I've been through this, it's not worth it to go though it alone. It will get better once you're done with puberty and your hormones stabilize, but until then, you might end up killing yourself during one of your lows. On the other hand, surviving it taught me valuable coping skills which have served me well as an adult. I don't think teens should be medicated except in extreme circumstances... try counseling first, and if you ever have any suicidal thoughts, call 1-800-SUICIDE or talk to a trusted adult IMMEDIATELY. Things really can get better, no matter how bad they are now. I'm living proof.

You're bipolar. Get on a mood stabilizer, talk to a therapist. Ignore the jerks who tell you to just go out and smell some tulips or those who tell you therapy is dumb. They have no idea what being bipolar is about and probably need a shrink and a therapist more than you do.

hi! =) I understand ur problem. Actually, i'm 14 too. quite depressed. Anyway, if ur parents are the source of depression, dont think its a good idea to talk to them. U know, sometimes parents get stressed out and end up screaming/yelling/ hitting/ or getting mad at their children.

Try talking to someone older, or maybe someone younger. Anyone that u think can help. Friends understand u the most.

Anyway, keep strong.

Reading some of the answers is plain horse puckey!!! You need to see a psychiatrist regularly and HE will decide you best course of action not Yahoo Answers. This disorder is pretty much manageable but you can't do it alone. I am bipolar and for the most part mine is managed.

Tell your parents if they already do not know. You may feel utterly alone, but you're not. You have your family, friends, teachers ECT. people will listen.

tell your parents whats going on, and get them to take you to doctor or to see a psychologist. depression can be fixed if you seek medical attention, and don't worry because everybody gets depressed and you can get over it!
