gallstones are pretty common, but u are quite young to be suffering from them. they are mainly caused by the type of food u eat. if your diet includes a lot of high fat foods, like cheese and crisps, this would have contributed towards the problem. also, u can be genetically prone to these kind of things... does anyone else in your family suffer from them ? surgery is sometimes necessary, in extreme cases gallstones can cause a build up of toxins in your body, which can lead to liver problems. if u only have mild symptoms, you can probably avoid surgery for a while, but u need to try and stick to a low fat diet or the problem will get worse. hope this helps.

You're unlucky to have gt gallstones so young, but some people do. I believe surgery is the only way to get permanent relief from the pain and discomfort. Nowadays it is often possible to have keyhole surgery - a good frind of mine (who was also about your age) had this done a few years ago. She was only in hospital for one night, and had a couple of very tiny scars. She felt it was well worth it because she'd been in so much pain before. She's been perfectly well ever since.
Hopefully your doctor will have referred you to a specialist/surgeon so you will have a chance to talk over your options (and your fears) soon.

no honey you don't always need surgery for gallstones!a lot of people have gall stones in their gall bladders and they needn't be taken out unless they're causing symptoms like upper right abdominal pain with low grade fever, and sometimes nausea and vomiting,or a condition called porcelain gallbladder which is a calcified gallbladder, sometimes a cholecystectomy(removal of the gallbladder)is performed as a prophylaxis for diabetic and old patients. how did you find out about them?did you have any sort of abdominal pain?have you been on a very strict diet?are you overweight?
SYMPTOMATIC gall stones are more common in obese females in their thirties but they can happen at almost any age and NOT cause any symptoms...consult a gastroenterologist before you see a surgeon. surgeons like operating you know!!..and don't worry, it is a very common procedure if it needs to be done, they even do them laparoscopically these days, which is a method of taking out the gallbladder without opening your abdomen so you'll have no scars and you're good to go much faster!!

It is quite possible for you to have gallstones. The tests are easy and painless to have. Sometimes you can have a stone that passes. Do not confuse these with kidney stones as one of your responders has. You cannot pee out a gallstone as it is not part of your urinary tract system. Surgery is not always necessary- it depends on how bad the gall bladder is affected for starters. If you do need surgery it is a breeze compared to 20 years ago- very small incision and a quick recovery time. Best of luck.

The problem here is that not enough information is given to accurately assess the injury. From what you have stated the doctor feels that the ligaments have been torn enough that it has allowed the bones to migrate from their natural position. This will or could cause an unnatural wear pattern to develop thus creating the arthritis. So wait the one week and see what the doctor thinks at that time. You can always get a second opinion and if you do see a podiatrist about this as they are the foot and ankle experts.

Hi
Yes you are young for gall stones - they are most common in overweight women over forty. The allopathic medical approach is often surgery but you can give alternative methods a try first and if they don't work for you do what your GP says. You can do a liver flush or cleanse - if you search on the internet you will find instructions. It is simple to do but you will need to set aside a whole weekend and the regime is not that pleasant (involves olive oil and epsom salts amongst other things). I have a client who was told by her GP she needed her gall bladder removed. She has now done her fifth liver cleanse (you need to do the process 6 times apparently) and so far has passed a whole bowlfull of stones. It works so it is definitely worth a try.
Hope this is hlepful.

It does sound young but it all depends on your diet and what you've been eating at a young age, my cousin has just had hers out at 30.
surgery consisted of keyhole and she was discharged after a overnight stay and off work for 2 weeks as she wasn't allowed any lifting or driving etc.
return to your doc for more imfo but get it seen to before it gets worse.

It is common now for young people to have gallstones, a low fat diet will control the pain your bound to have but eventually yes removal is possible via keyhole I had mine out in may and was out the next day. i controlled mine for 14 years and still developed a lot of stones.
good luck !
COME ON people you are thinking of KIDNEY stones here you CANNOT PEE OUT GALLSTONES!!!!! this is a disgestive tract condition NOT a urinary tract condition!
