a fever or getting sick or something, the bump was still there. it didnt hurt or anything. my stepmom said it was a fever blister. i think i had one before 2 or 3 years ago and i got really sick then with a bad cold or something. so now when i get this fever blister/cold sore yet again i feel like im coming down with a cold or something and a slight fever. i took cold medicine and felt fine the next day. and after different ointments my cold sore has practically disappeared in like 3 days. does this only happen to me before i get sick (cold/flu) or could it be something more serious. should i go to a doctor and get tested for anything???

fevers and feeling sick usually come down before a cold sore comes out. Is it little blisters that takes about a week to heal.
It could be herpes simplex virus. Check it out!!

A cold sore is herpes on your lip. When you have a cold sore, do not kiss anyone, do not go to the bathroom or touch your genitalia at all before washing your hands thoroughly, and do not perform oral sex, or allow someone to perform oral sex on you after kissing you, or if they have a cold sore or think they may be getting one.

Get some Abreva, and anytime you think you're getting a cold sore (usually it tingles) put that on several times a day. It really works.

AND DON'T FORGET THAT IT'S HERPES!
