Partly because of hormones; sex drive used to be very important in our evolution. Nowadays it's a little less important for survival of the species since we've got more of a problem with overpopulation than with dying out, and also in many countries we have insurance & pensions so we no longer need children to care for us when we get sick or old. Of course we still need a bunch of us to have sex & children but until very recently it was important for *everyone* to do so.

Also, because it's expected in society. I am not interested in sex and while I don't bring it up often, when I do people always think I'm really weird, or that there is something wrong with me, that I must've experienced some trauma, abuse or whatever. Actually I was interested to read I'm not *that* weird, a CNN article a couple years ago said 1% of the population is asexual, by no means a majority ::grin:: but still one in 100 isn't near as rare as you'd think when you hear people's reactions. Yet I've never knowingly met anyone who doesn't care for sex; most people don't tell.

We don't. o.O We have just as much interest in sex as every other animal on earth. Because it's an instinctive, genetic desire. The instinct to pass on our seed into a female's egg. Seriously, what made you think humans are any hornier than lobsters?

... Ohhh, you mean in comparison to, say... gardening.

Again, because sex and survival are the two most important instincts that humans have.

(Genesis 1:28) Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”

"subdue it" covers every other activity. God's orders.

But he wanted us to be married first...To make that commitment.
