Yoga is the merging of individual soul into the Supreme Soul(God)
Yoga has two parts one is Hathha yoga - which is normally known as yoga by most of the world
The real yoga is Raja Yoga, which helps us control the Prana and mind, and help us expand our consciousness
Yoga is the single powerful way to attain englightenment
Meditation is different from yoga...although it is a sub-set of yoga. Meditation tells us to concentrate our thoughts on a single point (god, or anything)...and thus calm our mind
Yoga leads to Samadhi....also meditation leads to samadhi
and samadhi leads to Enlightenment

It depends on the type, ( just from memory) I belive there are a couple of different paths with multiple types, Yana, Niyama, Asana, etc. The most common you will find in the use is Hatha which usually focuses on the stretching, exersicing aspects, with perhaps a bit of breath control and so on and the meditation aspects minimized. Though even the postures, ( asanas) can be considered a kind of moving meditation, it is a long way from Samhadi.
I incorporate yoga with weightlifting ( about an hour a day of weightlifting and an hour to an hour and an half of hatha yoga three to five days a week) and the combination is wonderful in that one strenghtens you while the other provides balance and flexibility. The yoga really relaxes you after a workout ( includeing, sometimes just some light meditation at the end). In addition, just yoga will give the non-athlete plenty of usable strength not to mention probably being the single best exercise for an older person as it help them with blance ( less falls, etc).
You can go deeper into yoga than I do and persue it as a religious calling and I understand, becuase of this, some christians object to any yoga, even simple hatha. I won't pass an opinion on this as I'm not versed in the arguments, but if you don't have a problem with that, try it out.

Yoga is ‘Chitta Vriti Nirodhah’, promoting the unison of body and mind and promotes wellness of human beings both physical, mental and spiritual. Yoga means "union". In a spiritual sense it is considered to be union with the Almighty. The 8 steps of yoga are yama, niyama, aasana, pranayama, pratyahar, dhyana, dharana and samadhi. Yoga is also a way of life and when practiced gives allover benefits. Meditation is a part of yoga, relating to mental relaxation and concentration. Attention is focused on thoughts and breath. Awareness of breathing controls the thought process and thereby relaxes the mind completely.

Yoga litterally means "Union". It is the union of body, breath and mind to be one with the soul.
Meditation is a complete rest to body, mind, intellect, memory and ego. Meditation is a effortless state of being. Meditation does not require concentration rather it greatly improves concentration.
I have experienced both Yoga and meditation in a practical way after undergoing "Art of Living" course. you can check out at www.artofliving.org.

Kundalini actually potential coiled. In yoga, a "corporeal potential" - an subconscious, instinctive or libidinal rigidity or Shakti, lies coiled on the bottom of the backbone. it really is envisioned both as a goddess in the different case as a sleeping serpent, subsequently distinct English renderings of the time period which incorporates 'serpent potential'. Reportedly, kundalini awakening ends up in deep meditation, enlightenment and bliss. Meditation is a prepare in which someone trains the innovations and/or induces a frame of mind to expertise to understand some income, even with the very undeniable truth that it will be argued that meditation is a objective in and of itself.
