We travel as a family abroad quite extensively.And in our experience we have found the best deals for hotels is through the 'tourist information office' in that particular town.Not only will they give you the best recommendations that best suit you and your pocket. Booking through them also qualifies for a 10-20% or more discount.You can book before you leave or turn up at their office and discuss it with them personally.I cant recommend any bars or restaurants personally as we always drive through Geneva.But watch the prices!!! It's a great place for a weekend break - I used to live there.
Stay at the Beau Rivage hotel.
Visit the old town - great restaurants, trendy bars/clubs underground! The shopping is impressive.
The parks are lovely Jardin D'Anglais.
Cultural - the Cathedral is worth seeing.
Have a good time! use the tram.

There are some really top & expensive restaurants - the best are french, thai and chinese cuisine. There's also Cafe de Paris for delicious steak. Ask the concierge/hotel to book a table or suggestions as they have contacts!

Oh very romantic. Sorry I've never been able to afford Geneva. I'm guessing it will be all nice and European like in the Swiss part of the The Bourne Identity movie. Enjoy yourself you two.

Depends on your budget. If you want cheap clean accommodation in a good area the Geneva YMCA has 3*** hotel type accommodation in a good location.
