Ariff, none of these can be taken as the best engineering profession. In the world today, people are moving away from individualistic to communalistic, when it comes to moving their society ahead. Note however that I am not disputing the existence of some egocentric individual. For one, the word "BEST" is a relative term. But if you are referring to "marketable”, then I think, nobody can give you a perfect or even the good answer you need. This notwithstanding, I can help you with a clue to assist you answer this question, simply because I believe you are the only one in a better position to do so.
First of all, you need to find out the "engineering need" of your immediate environment (as a start ie.b/4 you think of going global) whether mechanical, civil etc. needs has the highest demand.
Secondly, if this question is a result of your desire to study one of these courses in the university, then, taking note that determination is a key to success, you should also do a feasibility study of your strength and weakness when it comes to the core/major required to succeed in each of the courses. Beside these, you need to know whether the school you are applying to has the infrastructure on ground to support you acquire what you should; so that at the end, you will not be like “the” many around who has the paper/certificate, but don’t have the material to deliver. Consider the financial aspect/requirements also.
But believe you me, all of them are good and they need each other for all round success. I am not an engineer myself but an economist.

The best one of these for you is the one you can do the best.
I don't consider "Software Engineering" to be engineering at all. Between Mechanical and Civil, you can be a very successful person at either.
