They are indirectly causes millions of deaths by their stance against condoms (and increasing poverty as well). This is what religion is supposed to be? A bunch of made of crap rules that are not found in the bible (I am not religous but I respect religions in their pure forms)?
Don't give me this crap about "It's the peoples fault" etc! The Catholic Church is influencing many to avoid condom use.
This would be the same situation as promoting drugs, wives beatings, and smoking. It's the people's fault for doing it, right??
Imagine if the government said "everyone should smoke and beat their wives"? What would everyone say about that? It's the people's fault??? Probably not, they would blame the government. So then why does the Catholic Church get a pass? Those hypocrite leaders.

"what does not using a condom have to do with millions of deaths?!"
Causes the spread of HIV and other STDs. The pope should feel ashamed for taking that stance.

Wow, the catholic church has some people believing that condoms won't help prevent STDs. This is why I despise the leaders of that church, they make people believe rediculous statements like this.
Btw, that church isn't "holy".

The first serious thing I saw you say Julia.
Anyway, the catholic church, if faced with the bible would not stand.
Its sad that so many people actually seem to want to know God and are tricked by this cult.
I know people that have been so deceived by the catholic church. I was raised in this church, and when God called me, I saw through it. The bible and Jesus is Gods word, not the pope.
One thing good from the catholic church? Benedict's stance on Islam. Finally someone courageous enough to speak the truth.
Also, anyone harboring convicted pedophiles or priests that have obviously been guilty of abusing children GO TO PRISON!
If a leader hides them. HE IS GUILTY.
I'm so tired of people saying, "we have to protect the church" If someone abuses kids, they are not a member of the church."
Repentance and forgiveness are separate issues.
The structure alone of the Catholic church lends itself to this kind of crap.
In reality people chould pray in groups as equals with maybe a respected father in the community to lead the meetings.
If he is found to be touching kids, obviously he would not be a member of the group anymore.
The Catholic church hides these priests and keeps everything secret. NOT EXCUSABLE!
As far as condoms, they should be teaching about intimacy as an expression of love for your wife.
Instead of saying don't use condoms (if that is what they are saying.)
This is all my opinion. A bit emotional.

Well the fundamental purpose might more often than not be that some of the deleted questions are both juvenile and dull or the "query" is particularly a baseless accusation slightly disguised as a query. "How many individuals within the Vatican have AIDS" might come underneath both class and I have no idea what the additional rationalization of the query contained. The reply is that there is not any publicly to be had statistic and that more often than not nobody particularly is aware of and even might recognise considering that anyone might have AIDS and no longer inform any one. Probably there are a couple of individuals within the Vatican with AIDS. What does that imply? If it's statically fewer than in so much international locations what does that imply? If statistically greater than in a few international locations what does that imply? As a Catholic such questions are irritating particularly considering the often come from anyone who has no concept what "The Vatican" is instead of that is in which the Pope lives. Beyond the dull and sophomoric questions there may be a few fact that Catholics can discover accusations of the Vatican or the Pope offensive. Just like Jews may also be indignant and Muslims may also be indignant and Americans may also be indignant. Sometimes it's too handy to be indignant.

I wouldn't argue. I remember reading that the Vatican was conducting high level deliberations on whether married couples could use condoms if one of them had HIV. Haven't heard if they made an official ruling but it seems preposterous and rather sad that anyone would let the priests make such personal medical and family decisions for them. I'm a recovering Catholic and I could write volumes about the power trips and the hatred and the mind games spewed forth by Catholic priests and nuns on myself and my family. I say this with all due respect to the many honorable Catholics but on this issue I will call it as I have seen it.

The answer to these problems is not artificial birth control...it is education. I do not use any form of artificial birth control and I am not overrun with kids. I know what I need to do to avoid becoming pregnant. I pay attention to my body. If people are educated in how the body works then they can practice natural birth control methods which the Catholic Church recommends for those who cannot support a large number of children.
God slew Onan for practicing contraception (Gen. 38:9-10). In fact, up until the Church of England's Lambeth Conference of 1930, which accepted contraception and thus broke with the Christian tradition, contraception had been considered by all Christian churches, both Catholic and Protestant, to be gravely sinful. The Catholic Church does not feel free to change the law of God.
God bless,
Stanbo
P.S. Condoms cannot protect you from all STDs. The use of condoms can increase the risk of cervical cancer. Condoms cannot protect you from the human papalloma virus(may not be spelled correctly), which can be spread by common contact (touch) by touching anywhere from mid thigh to mid abdomen. This virus can lead to cervical cancer.

Eh. If the catholic church "takes a stance" that doesn't involve any incentives for or against it, it's irrelevant and you can't blame them (though you can accuse them of not acting as a proper role model). however, if the church insists" Do this and you'll go to hell" then yes, it's not the people's fault: they've simply been placed in a situation where-wait a second, what does not using a condom have to do with millions of deaths?!

Why blame a mainstream church if some people are hypersexual. Apparently you aren't the only hypersexual person who blames a church. What you need is one of those false megachurches giving you what you want outside the Bible, don't blame the catholic church for not going pagan enough. Elton John hates the Catholic church. Planned parenthood which can't stop salivating enough at the prospect of more abortions and more sexual license hates the Catholic church. And sure, you'll find what they tell you in the Bible, lol. Who are you kidding?
Keep your sexual problems to yourself. Let what is holy be holy, don't try to paganize it.

This is why I'm taking a break from religion; I agree with the kind of thing you're talking about. The Catholic Church has too much media publicity and spreads a lot of things that many of us disagree with. I plan on, one day, sitting down with a Bible, reading it through, and determining on my own what the book says to me. I'm almost completely through with the church; I'm only hanging on by a thread.

It is the fault of the Catholic leaders. Very few people in the EDUCATED world are Catholic. This is because educated people know a load of crap when they hear it. The majority of the Catholics are from underdeveloped countries (i.e. Mexico) where the people can be told anything and they will believe it. Such a sad world we live in.

Actually they knew exactly what they were doing when they instituted that policy. They knew that if the numbers of Catholics skyrocketed then they would have a large population to support the Church and compete politically with other groups.
