HELP!!! How can I send a package to an Airforce base in Iraq?

The person in question only has the strange coding, provided when sending mail from the States, seeing as I'm actually living in the UK, my post office did not know how to deal with the item . . .
is there any way to send mail from Europe or would I have to send it to a friend in USA, so they can post from stateside, surely there must be a way around this?

try the american embassy nearest you. they will get it there for you.

Presumably you have an address that looks something like: John Doe, 12th Rgt 3d Bn, APO AE 09844. The British PO should accept it, and send it to the States along with any other mail with a US address on it, and after that, the US Post Office will take care of it. If that doesn't fly, make additional inquiries of the British Post Office or at the US Embassy in London.

First you need to find out what the fpo address is. This is a military tracking code for units deployed around the world. for example for my squaderen home based here on the west coast my address when forward deployed is fpo ap unit 25422. Mailing it with the fpo address will get the package to where ever that person is anywhere in the world...

You could contact the Ministry of Defence to see if there is a UK base nearby and if there is whether you could send it c/o the UK BFPO number (British Forces Post Office) and for them to get it to your friend that way.

You send it to the BFPO number. If your post office does not know what it is then they need to go on a training course!! It should cost the same as sending to the UK.

Send it through the post office, or military base. Mail to U.S. bases and ships is considered to fall within U.S. postage rates.

Try contacting the USAF bases at either RAF ST Mawgam in cornwall or Fairford air base failing this try the US embassy

I am sure if you addressed it to the Base, assuming you know which one, or the embassy in that country it would get there.

The best way is to get help from Iraqi embassy, it would help though it might take a lot of time by getting checked again & again, and it might loose its real shape and meaning......for security purpose.
