Don't panic!
Did the dentist give you any extra gauze in case this happened?
You need to stop the bleeding.
Is the bleeding a little or alot? If is quite a bit then you need to either call your dentist after hours OR go to the nearest emergency room at the hospital.
DON"T RINSE YOUR MOUTH OUT!!!!!
Rinsing too soon after having a tooth out will actually removed the blood clot that has formed to protect the socket AND by rinsing it will bleed.
If it only a little bit then sleep with your head slightly elevated and place a old towel on your pillow.

I hope that your dentist to have told you what to do if this does happen - don't play around with the socket as it will bleed more.

DON'T LEAVE IT! SEE SOMEONE IMMEDIATELY IF CONCERNED - WHICH YOU ARE!

GOOD LUCK!

If it won't stop bleeding then you need to head to an emergency room. Some bleeding is going to occur after you leave the dentist from 15 minutes to an hour, but after that I'd seek medical attention. I picked up my friend after he had his wisdom teeth removed and there was some bleeding going on. 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later, 40 minutes later... At that point I decided to take him back ( he was a little out of it to make a concious decision ). Bled all over my car too. They ended up putting more sutchers in, fixed him right up.

My dentist has full instructions printed for patients who have had extractions. Usually the hole should have been plugged with gauze by the dentist, and you should have been told to leave it alone for 2hrs. Depends now, how long it has been since tooth been extracted. Rinsing with salt water is good , but only after the bleeding has stopped. If it has been a few hours and its still bleeding, get back to that Dentist!!!

Get a small gauze pad and bite down on it. Avoid all aspirin products and if you need something for the pain try Tylenol with codeine.
That should do the trick.

Aspirin and alcohol are anti-coagulants and will prolong the bleeding.

Bite down some gause for at least 20 mins and change it again. Try not to do any heavy exercise this may invite some bleeding too!

If the bleeding hasn't stopped after a couple of hours, you are in danger. Go to an emergency room and tell them that your wisdom teeth are still bleeding. (But don't drive yourself to the emergency room if you had general anaesthetic!)
