If a man is separated, yet not divorced, I don't think it's fine to ' date ' him. Technically he's still married. Some have other thoughts. Interested in yours. Real answers only please.

I think if he and the wife are truly separated, still waiting for the divorce to finalize, and his wife already has HER OWN relationship with someone else, then I think it would be okay to pursue a relationship. But be prepared to get hurt- there can be a ton of drama and pain involved.
My aunt had a relationship with a separated man- they're both successful professional people, but the guy didn't want to divorce his wife because under California law, he'd lose at least half of his wealth! And he didn't want to marry my aunt after years of leading her on. She has since dumped him, found another man to marry her (she's a doctor and so is her future husband) and I've never seen her so happy. There might be exceptions but that is what I have seen.

Legally speaking it can cause strife in the court proceedings if the separation is the precursor to a definite contested divorce. A divorce lawyer will play this situation in whatever way will be most advantageous to their client. Personally speaking however life is way to damn short to worry about courtrooms and settlements. You only live once so go out with whoever the hell you feel comfortable with and damn society's admonishing glare.

There is no harm to date a separated person , if both enjoy each others company , for a long relation , both can wait , if really happy to be together ,world is standing on hopes .

I would say if he is still living at home and/or working on his marriage, but filing for separation it would not be good idea to date him. It will only set you up for hurt if they work things out or you may end up being his mistress if they do work things out but does not tell you. He will have his cake and you too.

ok well my fiance' was separated when we 1st stared dating. well i think it was OK then because his ex wife was cheating on him and already engaged so i mean.. sometimes yes and others no i guess it all depends on the reason why he is separated.

I think it's ok. You would have to be prepared for some drama though. And be prepared to deal with the fact that you could lose him if he decides to go back.
