I use Stevia regularly when making goodies for diabetic friends. It can leave a bitter aftertaste but most folks either don't notice it or it's so mild compared to the sweetness they don't mind. I use the powder version in baked goods and candies, the liquid when making drinks for them.
I'd never use (or recommend) Splenda (or Equal) for anything beside killing fire ant mounds (seriously! If you want details on how just add on to your question or email me).

Edit:

To use Splenda or Equal (sucralose or aspartame respectively) to kill fire ant mounds you use two or three teaspoons (two or three packets) per mound. The technique is simple; just make a pile of the white powder on each mound and mist *lightly* with water. Do NOT dissolve the powder as the idea is to release a small amount of the sweet taste so the ants will take the powder into the nest. In less than a week they will be DEAD. Large mounds may take a second treatment.

There are *many* websites that speak of the toxic effects of these two artificial sweeteners. Run a web search on "Splenda poison" or "Nutrasweet poison"; you'll get thousands of hits.

Hi. Yes I have tried Stevia. It has a bitter-fruity taste. Its also very sweet. I wouldn't recommend buying it. I would go for Splenda
