Kind of meds or even the number of meds does not tell the severity of the illness. Sometimes when your symptoms get worse you will get a med adjustment or a med added. If you feel your bi-polar is worsening be sure to tell your doctor. If you have bi-polar they don't usually classify you as beginner or advanced. If you get manic or depressed be sure to call the doctor as soon as you notice this. It is a serious illness and here are the holidays. Best of luck to you!!

Assuming you mean Bupropion then it's not really a bipolar medication, it's an anti-depressant. There is evidence that in some cases bipolar disorder can be managed just with antidepressants.

Bupropion (Wellbutrin) is the least likely of the anti-depressants to trigger mania in bipolars, so to answer your question, it does not sound like a serious case of bipolar disorder.

Be warned, however, that bipolar is a very serious illness even in its 'milder' forms.

Bipolar Disorder isn't a disease and isn't degenerative so it cannot be "very advanced." It is a personality disorder. Bipolar people usually cycle through many medications because none have really proven effective in combating its symptoms.
