I got pulled over tonight for going 70mph in a 45mph construction zone. The cop wrote the ticket for 50mph in a 45mph zone but later in the ticket it says my speed was 70mph. (which it was). How much will my fine be and how many points will I get? (Michigan)

Penalties are usually doubled for speeding in construction zones with workers present. And...WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING DRIVING LIKE THAT????? PEOPLE LIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE THEIR LICENSES REVOKED AND BE REQUIRED TO SERVE TIME IN JAIL!!! What you did was tantamount to attempting an assault with a deadly weapon. I have no sympathy for people like you; I've been hurt and permanently injured by drivers like you, and friends have been killed and badly hurt also. When are you going to learn that a car is a one ton projectile and as such is an awesome responsibility! Were I the judge, you'd get the maximum fine and all the jail time I could hand you. And if I could, I'd punish your parents for unleashing you on the world.

Oh, but if you don't like that you can just report me for abuse! Of course, that won't change the fact that what I said is the truth and you need to hear it, at the outside possibility that you'll wise up. You shouldn't be thinking of your punishment, but of your actions and their possible consequences. How would you feel if you had killed someone? More importantly, how WILL you feel WHEN you do?

I am pretty sure it will be some ware between 2 to 5 points and where I live the fine is doubled if speeding in construction zone so that may apply to you too but I do not know what the state traffic laws are.

Don't know for sure but I think 2 points in CA. You may be able to do traffic school to get the points off your record (hide from insurance) There is a traffic school link here http://painintheexhaust.blogspot.com

Looks like 5 point and a 200.00+ fine, it also depends on the judge to, was it worth it?
