Which foods do you miss from your home country? I'm back in Aus where I grew up for a visit after years living in the UK. I miss Chocolate milk, twisties, red rooster chicken, dim sims, red skins, jaffas, snakes alive, bright orange fanta, full fat yoghurt, potato gems. So many great but fattening foods!

I grew up in Cape Town and live I England now, and I miss fish and chips, made with fish that was caught the same morning, and wrapped up in paper. I miss fat cakes, bobotjie, vegetables that taste like they should, and atchar. oh, and i miss eet-sum-mors and nik-naks(in big packets), full fat yoghurt, and meat that tastes fresh. meat in the U.K tastes like it's been sitting around for a while, can't eat it. And i miss a restaurant called Carnivores. Yumm!

What are dimmies? Oh and what are snakes alive?

Grew up in England and live in Cape Town. Miss proper fish and chips, pork crackling, shreddies chocoalte spread (some of the stuff you can get here but hellishly expensive) Kebabs from the kebab van!! The big roast dinners you can get on Sundays at the pub, with yorkshire puddings. Hmmm thanks now my mouths watering: ) But cool stuff here in SA that cant get in UK.

I grew up in the Philippines but now living in the U.S. I really miss the culture, the language, the filipino foods, the beliefs, the traditions, and the much simpler lifestyle.

I'm in France - Coleslaw is the only thing they can't seem to make! Not a very festive food but I can honestly say I won't miss the TURKEY!

I was brought up in Australia (Pommy parents) but now live in London, and one things the Poms cannot do is dim sims. Fried dimmies with soy sauce. Can't beat 'em.

pommy chocolate is pretty bad too. now that i'm back in oz, i miss the late night kebab shops, you know the ones, those that can understand what someone orders when they're drunk. they make great kebabs and pizzas with corn on them.
