but im not on any insurance policy, for example, say i borrow a friends car, i get a ticket, would their insurance go up? or would it have to be the owner of the car to get the ticket for it to raise up because technically they dont know i was in the car right?

once they find out how many points you have on your record, then they will hike up your insurance..so the answer is yes.

The answer is no. The price of the policy will not go up on the owner of the car. The ticket goes under your name no the car. The ticket affects your record, when you try to get an insurance then maybe it will be a little more expensive has if you did not have any ticket. It depends on the insurance company since speeding ticket is consider a minor volition. If you have more than 2 or 3 speeding ticket they their is a problem.

Usually not for one ticket with most insurers. Depends on the seriousness of the ticket but speeding is pretty common. Now 2 tickets within 3 years WILL raise your rates. This is all factored on how good your insurance company is. If you were some lame cheaper insurance or something YES it will probably go up for just one ticket. If the insurance is not in your name then no of course your rates will not go up because you have no rates to go up. But if you get to many tickets im sure the insurer that covers the car your driving will ask for you to be excluded.

Well here, the speeding ticket goes against your license meaning anytime you try to get insurance and they run your driving record, that speeding ticket will show up on your dri. license, not your friend's insurance. some dummy above me mentioned that only cheap companies would raise your price for a speeding ticket, but that's crap. i have great insurance companies that give really great prices but some are extremely picky and only reward good drivers with their good driver discount. you got a speeding ticket, so you're going to have to pay for it. don't worry though, we've all been there. so if you think it's worth going to school for your infraction (if you're 24 or under, most definately), but if not, just wait it out for 3 years.

yes it will. But it won't until your next policy renewal. If your a listed driver on the policy that is.And depending on what company you have as to how much it will go up.A speeding ticket isn't as bad as a at fault accident or a DUI.And whatever you do, don't try to get it down to a reckless operation or any other violation. Some people think those are less costly.pfffffffft .Not when it comes to insurance it isn't.

Yes, unless you have a forgiveness clause that allows you to have one ticket and not receive higher rates until you have a second one.
