after reinstalling windows xp i cannot get any sound can anything be done?

the old sound drivers that you had installed where configured for the previous version of xp. When windows was removed some of the files for your sound card might have gone with it. you might have to reinstall your sound card or update the drivers for it to reflect the current version of windows requirements.

To play sounds on your computer you have to install sound driver which comes in a CD with motherboard.

Play it and install all drivers.
if you don't have so identifiy your driver name and download it from Internet and install in your computer.

i guess your system has lost your soundcard driver..
install the sound card driver
it may be done like this..
put your mother board cd..
and it ll show you the list off drivers which are not installed
..
install all those drivers and then restart your machine..
you ll hear it...

make sure you have the latest drivers and running SP2
