Panic or Anxiety Attacks?

Did anyone ever have anxiety attacks fearing for the safety of their family? A few months ago I started worrrying obsessively about my sister. She is 18 and I became so afraid something would happen to her, I would get this weird horrible feeling come over me. It was so bad, I always worried about her but this was taking over my life. I couldn't go anywhere, I was always calling her when she was with her friends. I am doing better now, I am on Effexor. I haven't had any of those weird feelings since June, but I still worry about her and am afraid something bad will happen to her. I was just wondering if anyone else had a problem like this?

Yes, I also have anxiety disorder, and this is one of the symptoms, obsessive worrying over things that you can't control. It may help to talk to your sister, and discuss not only the fact that you are worried about her, but why you are worried. It may be possible that some of your fears are unfounded, for instance, if she reassures you that she always locks her car doors, you don't need to worry about someone jumping into her car. It also helps to talk to your therapist about these issues, you may be able to explore why you are so afraid for her. Good luck to you.

I have had anxiety issues and panic attacks my entire life. I took many medications to solve the problem but they helped very little and had bad side effects. Changes to your life style are much more beneficial and less costly to your body.

go for more walks with people you love

Sounds cheesy and useless right? ... I had a long and nasty list of anxiety issues mixed with ADD and OCD .... today none of those things affect me in the least ... don't just look to medication, change your life around - there's a reason your uneasy
