Gifts from the heart are always thoughtful. Try making coupons for him for things he likes. like 1 free back rub, or 1 get out of dinner with your parents. Anything along these lines, you can even throw some sexy ones in there.

I like to get a watch, not an expensive one, but one that is nice to look at. If he wares an ear ring, get one for him.
Tools are good, for the car. Is he a handy type guy?. You can also get a emergency roadside kit with what ever you get him for the car, Everyone could use that!. Anything electronic is good too.

ok I'm not a guy but i know one thing all guys would like is a (real) race car driving ticket and if you drive a car with him he'll love it even more

well it has to do with what he likes, if he likes video games then a video game. if he likes movies a movie, if he likes gadgets then something that has to do with gadgets. if he likes skate boarding a helmet. it depends on his likings and if not then just give him the usual; cologne, shirt, wallet, watch, etc...
