I led a team for a walk-a-thon last spring. I haven't heard from the organization since, even though I donated money. They sent me an email at the time to say thank you and that's it.
So, this question occured to me: do charities add to their mailing lists the names and addresses of people who donate to walk-a-thons and other events? Or do they feel that we are one-time donors, and we only donated because a friend asked us? Because it seems to me that they should contact me: why wouldn't they? Shouldn't I have some information in order to decide whether to give again or whether to be a team captain again?
Any details you can provide would be helpful, such as the name of the charity you supported and whether you got on the mailing list. Thanks!

<>It's strange that you haven't heard from them. Usually, charities latch on to every donor and participant like glue and contact them regularly. However, they may have record-keeping problems, since they usually rely on volunteers for their paperwork, too. Reach out to them and ask, if you are interested. I'm sure they will happily update you in their records.
