I finally went to the doctor today about my chronic insomnia, anxiety, and lightheadedness. My doc says that it's PPD and prescribed a mild anti-depressant. Is it normal (I've had the insomnia for almost two years now) to have PPD this late after brith? My daughter is a preemie and yep, I blame myself for her early and complicated delivery also.

The symptoms where there before the elapsed 16 months you probably were introduced to a new sickness or high stress which made your symptoms got worse or more notable remember the best medicine is yourself you must not be so stressed tell your husband to help you hire a Nanny to help you out I'm sure there are plenty of illegals that don't cost as much if money is a problem. Some doctors give anti depressants because the client pays alot of money for them to go empty hand you find out if this is the case by the level of power in the drug.

I'm sure that some women experience PPD this long after giving birth, although it's probably uncommon. But that's not as relevant as finding out what can help you. I hope the treatment your doctor has given you will help, and I wish you the best.

I'm not sure this site is the best place to get this kind of advice. This is serious from what I've heard. I know when I had my son the nurses and docs were asking me constantly how I was feeling emotionally. This can be very serious. Did you ask your doctor if this was normal? Can you get a second opinion from another doctor? Can you contact a nurse line perhaps? Stay on top of this with professionals please. Best of luck to you, and your health.
