Is it acceptable to bring disposable razors in carry-on luggage? They said it was on the airport website, but I thought I'd check with people who have flown very recently. Also, is bar soap and bar deodorant considered liquid?

Disposable razors... the kind where the blade is in a cartridge are OK. Solid soap and solid deodorant are not liquids. Here's the US Transportation Security Administration's website with their list of permitted and prohibited items: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

Here is our page on packing cosmetics: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/security-alert-cosmetics-packing-guide.html and the general stuff: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/travel-security-alert-packing-guide.html We just got home from our latest trip and carried all of those in our carry-on luggage.

It probably isn't a good idea. Some airports in the smaller towns might be okay with it but larger airports aren't. I tried to take something on the approved list in my carry on from New York's JFK airport and they said I couldn't then when flying out of a small city near Chicago Ill. I was able to take it about a few days after they said I couldn't in JFK so it depends on the airport but I wouldn't risk it.

Safety razors are fine - as is bar soap. Deodorant is considered a "gel", and needs to be in a quart sized Ziploc bag.

bar soap is bar not liquid, but bar deodorant is paste, and that is not alowed in carry on luggage in many airports and airlines. for your own safety carry razors in your luggage, but not your carry on. also avoid any liquid, paste or gel.
