I was doing fine until I downloaded the new windows media player. And it completly converted all my files. I was wondering what splitter I can use to keep splitting these files.

What you are saying? Windows media automatically converted your files? sounds crazy. may eb I am not sure what you are talking about.

Anyway, if it is a audio file, get audacity. the best fre opensource audio editing program.
if it is a video file, get virtualdub(http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/gmm/fwvideoedit.html). Also, try windows movie maker.

Finally, get rid of windows media player. the best media player is vlc player(www.videolan.org) which can play almost anything!

U got it wrong.

Only the icons are changed to Media Player icons but the format still remains as it is.

U have to go to options & manually select the files for which WMPlayer will be the default.

I keep it default for WMV & WMA only, for the rest I use VLC player its the best- plays everything under the sun & its is very small MB size.
