You've heard about having a friend talk with the person you like first but I think it might be more effective to talk with your friend with the person you like near the conversation then just say words to them as part of the stream of the main conversation.
That said I had a fun idea that your word italk is a nifty name.
Now that MP3 players are everywhere with headphones n computers are powerful there could be software that listens to your conversation then suggests via headphones effective things to say ways of being kind or pleasant manners.
I was thinking about a yahoo answers person that was thought to be less able at living than most people. I thought that if she had instant headphone advice just like George Bush she'd say the right things so often she'd become socially or job adept then feel better about her life. It would be a shyness cure.
What if you had a computer program that could suggest nifty conversation things like: say their name, people like hearing their name, or beep a thing that says" more eye contact. Both confidence n practiced social ability would result.

Just make idle chit chat about something going on in life or in the immediate area.
The big thing, is just remembering that the worst thing that can happen is you finding out that he is not interested. Then get over it and move on, because you WILL find someone else.

Take a deep breath, release it and walk right up and say Hi there! Thats all there is to it. Now, if you want to ask him out--flattery is a good start--but ask asap, since you want to know if he feels or believes that you are a hottie too.

Start by saying "Hi" and give him a smile. One of those smiles that say, Hi, your really cute, you know one of those flirty smiles and take it from there.
Dont flirt too much it turns alot of men off. It comes off to strong.
So smile, show alittle attention and you should be good.

Starting with a compliment is always nice. Ask questions about them. Find out what they like and share your interests with them. However, be sure to ask more about them. Everyone loves to talk about themselves secretly. ^_~
Slowly get to know them more and allow them to know you more.
