It's better with brown sugar and butter stirred into it, or else a little maple syrup floated on top. You can also add raisins or dried fruit such as apricots or pineapple pieces.

And if you really want to get adventurous, stir in some sharp Cheddar cheese and a dash of salt. That makes it a bit more like grits, which beat the heck out of C of W any day as far as I'm concerned.

Oh dear, your mom is going to hate this! But, you put a layer of melted butter on top, then cover that with sugar (should be at least 1/8th of an inch), then crumble some graham crackers and pour that on top. (-: If you work fast, you can hide the butter and sugar part from your mom, and she'll think you're just eating graham crackers.

Actually, though, cream of wheat isn't that healthy -- Malt O Meal is much better for you because it's whole wheat. You might be better off with just taking the graham crackers and dunking them in milk.

Eggs are a very healthy breakfast, taste good, and don't require any more time than cream of wheat. Research healthy foods (like a breakfast burrito) and offer to cook them for your mom -- I bet she'd appreciate the help in the kitchen, and you'd get a breakfast you can eat.

Don't just complain! Do something positive!

Well, on the plus side there are lots of ways to make cream of wheat edible, but, on the minus side, if mom's on a health craze she's probably not going to like them.

Here's my favorite, but I can tell you now that Mommy won't approve: Fried Cream Of Wheat
Make a double recipe (four servings) of Cream Of Wheat, using any additional ingredients such as cream and honey if you prefer. Serve two portions. Put the other two portions, in covered bowls, in the refrigerator. The next day, invert the bowls over a medium hot oiled griddle (or skillet) and the cereal will plop onto the griddle in nicely formed pancakes. Cook for two minutes on each side. Top with your favorite syrup or fruit compote.

Butter Pecan Cream of Wheat
Fix Cream of Wheat the regular way and top with a scoop of butter pecan ice cream.

Peanut Butter Cream of Wheat
Add 1 Tablespoon peanut butter to the milk. Stir until it is dissolved (This is slow, but it allows your taste buds time to anticipate the results). Add the other ingredients.

CREAM OF WHEAT COOKIES

1 1/8 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 lg. eggs
2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. Cream of Wheat
1 tbsp. vanilla
3/4 c. raisins

1. Mix butter and sugar in large bowl.
2. Add eggs; beat well.
3. Add rest of ingredients and mix.
4. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.
5. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.

I truely LOVE cream of wheat.
This is how I make it.

Soak a bit in water meanwhile boil some milk and add sugar and cardamom powder to it add the soaked cream of wheat along with the water and keep on stirring till the milk thicken a bit. If you stop stirring lumps will form.

Add more milk if you wan a drinking consinstancy and less if you want to set it like a jelly.

(I truly love to drink this milk) its great to strengthen the back childbirth according to old wives tales) and it did work for me both times.

Too much wheat in your diet is extremely bad for you......Tell your Mum to cut wheat out of your diet as it often bloats you and can have links to asthma, psoriasis and eczema. Start cooking with 'SPELT FLOUR' which is a much healthier alternative and is regularly available. Cutting out all sugar would be far more sensible!..This is extremely hard to do as sugar is even present in our table salt. Salt can also be eliminated from our diet and needless to say all 'JUNK FOOD' should be banned!

Try butter brown sugar and milk. You could also add fruit and nuts or just use white sugar instead of brown. Use your imagination maybe a few choco chips or a little peanut butter.

Try Raisins. Perhaps some cinnamon and nutmeg and butter. Also, there is Malt-o-Meal, the chocolate variety is very good.

You can put fruit in it or add sugar (Splenda or Equal) in it. Butter works good too and milk(1% or 2%).
