Yes...what Ana says. It isn't fair to judge someone. The effort it takes one person to take a few steps might be far greater than the effort it would take another to walk a mile. Point being--you don't know where someone else is coming from. Having said that, I definitely judge trashy trailer park women who bring their illigetimate children to Target and let them run around screaming and wiping their filthy, snotty hands on the merchandise while I'm trying to peacefully shop. Passing judgment on something like that is worth the risk of being judged unfairly by someone else

Heron by the sea is right! There is another saying,"As yea judge, so shall yea be judged!" If I say, That person is a barbarian and should not go to Heaven because he/she kills others that do not believe as he/she does and then kill somebody for the same reason, God will judge me as a barbarian and I will go to the other place instead of Heaven!
Does that help?

Your commentary reveals you would be included in the judging group as well. Kind of ironic, huh? I guess I have made a judgement of some kind as well - its unavoidable.

It must be the harshness of the judgement that actually matters. We all discern right from wrong. But do we castigate hypocritically? I honestly hope to avoid that.

We are told in many place in the Bible that we are to judge those that are Christians but are doing wrong. We are to direct them onto a path of righteousness. What your quote means is that we should not be hypocritical in our judgment. And we should not use the occasion as a means for spreading gossip, but only talk to the church elders who can help.

Yes.

It's one of the most important things in the Bible.

The thing you have to get from it all is "Love thy neighbour." The rest is superfluous. The meaning is clearer if you paraphrase it:

Judge no one, and you yourself will be free from judgment.

If you do not call anyone else a sinner, how can you be one? you have done nothing that you see as wrong, and nothing that you would condemn another for. You are guiltless.

What you judge is what you are in danger of experiencing yourself. One the major flaws that humanity shares is the act of judging others. The courage to refrain from judging shows a real knowledge of what love for you brothers and sisters is.

"Let he who is blameless cast the first stone."

We're all judged in the end, are we not? It isn't our job. Yet people still do. Why? Because of human nature. But it is the will and the power to want to rise above that human nature that makes humankind unique.

From God's perspective, we as humans are all of a sinful nature. It makes no difference whether we hold a grudge or actually murder innocent blood, in comparison to God, we have no capacity to judge. If we do we only judge ourselves as guilty of all sin.
It really has less to do with how we view others compared to ourselves and more to how we should see ourselves in comparison to God.

It is that which you are judging in another is something about yourself you can not see because you are blind to it. We are each others mirrors. This way we can heal. The old saying what goes arounds comes around and a thousand and one versions of karma. What you focus on becomes your reality ,......

Don't judge others, as you wouldn't like to be judged yourself.
Treat people the way you would like to be treated.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
He who has not sinned cast the first stone.
All pretty much state the same.
