It is a very small oval shape. The pill is white with blue specks all over it. MP273 is marked on one side. I was told that this pill is prescribed for very large people who need to loose weight. I was also told that this pill would help you loose excess water.

Sounds like Phentermine which is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an "anorectic" or "anorexigenic" drug. Phentermine stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite.

Throw the damn thing out, since it obviously wasn't prescribed for you! But since we all know that you "aren't gonna take it, I just want to know what it is", call your local pharmacy. Chances are they have either a text or online reference that can readily identify the pill.

Just remember that Federal Law prohibits the trasnfer of this medication to anyone other than the person for who it is prescribed.

You can find a PDR at the library. That's a Physicians Desk Reference. It has pictures, descriptions, etc of prescription meds.

You could search and see if the PDR is available online.

Go to the internet and pull up walgreens.com or cvs.com or riteaid.com. Ask for the pharmacy. They should know. Good luck.
