This is basically a special birthday.
If you were invited to an 18th or 21st or 50th birthday party you would give a gift.
The gift should reflect your association with the Bat Mitzvah girl.
Many people give money so that she can buy something large that she wants to to put away for college or a special trip.
Remember it is gift and should be given and taken as one.
Money is not mandatory.

Yes - this is a very appropriate time for a gift. Money is perfectly ok - lots of kids save money from their bar/bat mitzvah for their college fund; they also often give part of it to a charity. Alternatively, you can get the bar/bat mitzvah whatever item you like if you happen to know what sorts of things they enjoy or need. If you are giving a gift to a girl ("bat" meaning daughter, "bar" meaning son), you might consider somthing like a pair of candlesticks, or a similar item having to do with a Jewish woman's traditional duty.

Absolutely. This is a major life event for the child. Money is the norm, but you can make it extra special and find something that might be a little more personal for the girl. Something that she would keep for the rest of her life and to remember this joyous time of her becoming Bat Mitzvah.
Okay perfect! Go to Signals.com and search "Shema Cuff Bracelet" It's $50, but it would be a perfect gift if you're willing to spend the money. I'm gonna get one for my daughters Bat Mitzvah. Good Luck!

A gift for a guest of honour at a Bat Mitzvah party at home differs from a gift at five star hotel. Multiplication of $18.00 is o.k. but forget $18.00 or $ 36.00. You can't buy a nice toy for this amount. If you can't afford to cover at least the cost of your plate-don't go--send a small gift with your regrets! Bat Mitzvah is equivalent in importance to a coming out party for a society girl. $ !8.00 would offend at such party, wouldn't it? I know--a gift is a gift, but...

Yes, the Bar or Bas Mitzvah is given gifts.
You can really give anything, and the amount spent depends on how close you are with the person/family, anywhere from $15-$20 to hundreds.
You can give just money, electronics, gift cards, anything.

In the Jewish tradition, a small gift of $18.00 or a multiple of that is sometimes given as a gift. It is called 'CHAI' and is meant for good luck and health.
But you could give any amount to a bat mitzvah. Wsh them 'mazeltov!' Meaning to health and happiness. also.

No, Don't get a gift. Always give money. The amount should at least cover the cost of your attendence at the event.
If you are not attending and want to send a gift. Multiples of 18 (chai) are concidered good luck.

parent that the provider would be between ninety minutes and a pair of a million/2 hours long, based upon the congregation. If the congregation is Reform (seek for the be conscious "Temple" of their call), it could be on the shorter end. I accept as true with $36 is a beneficial present. although maximum women folk positioned on heels, be arranged to take them off during the occasion. often the little ones will receive socks to positioned on as they do distinctive events during the occasion, on condition that they are able to be greater cellular that way.

traditionally you give 18 dollars as a gift because it represents the jewish word for life, "hi". if it's just you 18 dollars, or if you have more guests 18 dollars a person, so for like two people give 36, and so on.
the best gift i got was a friend who had a plaque engraved with the invitation, it's still hanging on my wall and it's so beautiful

well if you wanna give em money you usually give em $36, which is double $18 which is for good luck. that's what people usually do. but if you wanna give her an actually gift then maybe a little jewelry box, a david's star necklace, or something that has to do with becoming a bat mitzvah or something nice like that.
