A Baby Boomer is someone who was born during the period of increased birth rates when economic prosperity rose in many countries following World War II. In the United States, the term is iconic and more properly capitalized as Baby Boomers and commonly applied to people with birth years after World War II (WW II) and before the Vietnam War, thus possibly comprising more than one generation. The Baby Boom is the iconic term widely used to refer to the American population and culture in particular, as post WW II demographics across the world did not mirror the sustained growth in American families over the same interval.

Babyboomers are those born during a 10 to 15 year period after World War 2. 1945 to 1960 Dad went to work. Mom stayed home and had kids, Lots and Lots of kids the average family had 4 or 5 kids. It wasn't uncommon to have 50 or 60 kids in one little neighborhood.
Back then the earth was cooling. And we would all starve to death by the year 2020, Because the Earth couldn't feed the growing population. But we fixed that problem now the earth is warming up and we all got fat.

People born in America the late '40s and early '50s. They are called baby boomers because they were part of an increase in the birth rate (a "boom") after troops returned home from World War II.

The people that are born after World War II, between about 1945 and 1965. Cute description for how babies were born in droves after the men returned from the war ready to get their groove on.

Someone who was born in the baby boomers generation (right after WWII when the economy was "booming," industry was flourishing, and there were a lot of new innovative ideas. People were happy so they started having a lot of babies, hence the name "baby-boomers."). Basically late 40s-50s. Some also include the early 60s.

Anyone born as a result of troops returning home from World War 2. What I can't figure out is why someone like myself who was born in 1960 is considered a boomer too. Dad served in Korea. My granduncles served in WW2.

This would be the children of post World War Two. A very large generation born 1945-1965.
A very spoiled and rebellious group, which I know as I am one.
