What do you say: Blinds open or closed at night?

OK, I was going to say open in the summer, closed in the winter -- this will let the house heat escape during the summer, but it will keep the house heat in during the winter, and you'll save on gas.

BUT, I live out in the country, and hardly anyone is out here. If you are in the city, it'd be a good idea to close the blinds at night, too.

Blinds aren't always very effective in cold climates -- you may want to add some curtains (and close them too!) during the winter months.

i am usually too tired to bother with my blinds, but hypothetically i would personally choose to close them so in the morning i could rush rush rush changing and all without having to worry about privacy. at least during the week. even though the sunlight is nice, i have to wake up way before the sun shines. as a solution, how about closing any windows that face civilization and leaving open any that don't? everyone's gonna have their own spin on this

I close them at bedtime. But usually leave them turned open, but not pulled back, so I can see out while I'm awake.

definitely open. that way you get to see the moonlight at night, and the sun wakes you up in the morning. who cares if people can see in.
