Anyone know? I was going to cut some with a dremel and a cutting wheel but I thought I remembered something about that.

Zinc will give you what welders call Zinc poisoning. You would have to do a lot of cutting to get it, and I mean a lot. It is only a concern when you turn the Zinc into vapours and breath it in. Even then the effects are temporary. You will feel like you have the flu for about a day. There is no long term effects. Read a WHIMIS sheet if you have any concerns. You can download them off most metal suppliers web sites.

Yes. Wear goggles and a mask. It would also be wise to have a fan blowing any smoke away from you. A well ventilated area such as an open garage would also be adviseable.

Zinc vapour is highly poisonous....Wear an oxygen mask...
