any recipe would be appreciated. oh, and it would be nice to get few fish recipes, mainly salmon. (i need fish oil in my diet) thank you very much. -straving artist in collage. ^^

Hope you have a fidge or cut your recipes in half, but not the cooking times, you should be the Master of the Wave so you'll know:
MICROWAVE SALMON AND RICE CASSEROLE
1 can cream of celery soup
1 (15 1/2 oz.) can salmon, drained save liquid
1 1/2 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
1 (10 oz.) pkg. broccoli thawed
2 c. cooked rice
Combine soup, salmon liquid and cheese in microwave safe bowl. Stir cover and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir at 1 minute. Add salmon, broccoli and rice. Mix well. Cover and microwave on high for 8 minutes. Stir at 2 minutes and 6 minutes. Serves 6.

I've been living off of kraft Mac and Cheese (it goes on sale for like 25 cents pretty often at the store). I sometimes like it with a little tuna in it (but I might be weird.) Buying a premade jar of spaghetti sauce and noodles is also generally pretty cheap. (You can get the sauce for 2.50 or so and noodles are less than a dollar for a pack. This makes a pretty decent number of meals, so it's cheap.) Warm the sauce in a pan and cook the noodles in the pot.
Pork is really cheap, just cook it up and put barbeque sauce on it. If you can get your hands on a cheap crock pot, cut the pork into peices, put a thing of barbeque sauce in it, and let it sit for the day. For 5-9 bucks total (depending on what bbq sauce you use and how big of a pork roast you get), you can feed yourself for 3-4 days.
That's all I can think of right now. Noodles are seriously the staple of my poor student diet right now because they can be cooked with just about anything, and they're really inexpensive.

My mom used to make salmon patties.....mmmm they are good. The recipe is pretty easy, 1 can salmon, 1 pkg (not box) saltine crackers, 1 egg and some milk. Mix it all together, depending on you desired thickness use more or less milk/crackers. I'm sure you could also add your own spices if you'd like. Then take a handful, and make a patty out of it, like you would do to make a hamburger, then fry it until it's golden brown on each side. Enjoy.

The "cheap man's" scalloped potato recipe:
1. Microwave potatoes until soft
2. Let them sit and cool until you can touch them
3. Peel them and slice them
4. Put in a pot on medium to high heat
5. Add a can of Mushroom Soup (Campbell's is the best)
6. Add half a can of water
7. Stir occasionally until hot
If you make a full pot, that will last you a while. It still tastes good the 2nd and 3rd day.

Well buddy I was in the same situation. What I did was get chicken legs. they are the cheapest ones . i would just bake them. i also would get imitation potatoes or even get the ramen and baked chicken together. I also would get mac and cheese but not the regular kind. these are all in the dry food isle.. they are the lipton kind those are great..... but i would just get the pre packaged items and bake my chicken. i usually do a little extra so i do not have to cook every day. i am sorry but i do not eat fish..lol so i cant help you. pre packaged meals are so much better. and sometimes you can catch a deal on them good luck

If you need fish oil in your diet more I would buy the fish oil capsules and spend your money on cheaper fish.
Stock up on herbs and spices and lemon. Very easy to spinkle them onto fish and wrap it up in foil to grill bake. Lemonpepper or cajun spices go well with white fish, but not sure about salmon.
Also if you have a freezer try making casseroles and freezing the left overs.

You can buy canned salmon, right next to the tuna. It's fairly cheap. Mix it with pasta and a can of cream of mushroom soup.
Cheap meals
Any cream of "something" soup mixed with milk and pasta. Cream of mushroom, or chicken are my favorite!
Canned spaghetti sauce with pasta
Mac n Cheese, stir in canned tuna or salmon
There are healthy TV dinners that you can buy and microwave. Check out the "Healthy Choice" line of TV Dinners, they're great!
Good luck!

well, sir, canned tuna is cheap and can be made into a variety of foods. you do not even have to cook it. you also need some vegetables in your diet. cooked tuna with spices and peas/kidney beans is very good.
